Versailles brings back the ancient art of gilding. The ornate collection is dripping in water-gilded brilliance. Artisans hand-apply layers of gesso and red clay followed by a meticulous application of gold, silver or bronze leaf. Random areas are polished to reveal portions of the clay for an elegant aged effect. A beautiful collection with classic character.
